Diverse State Diverse Communities!

“We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.”

Just about every early childhood education professional in the state of Texas can speak to the diversity they see in the students they teach day in and day out. Whether diversity is referring to race, class, geographic representation, learning styles, or the unique needs of each student, there are wide arrays of techniques that teachers use in order to meet those needs.

The focus of June is to raise awareness about the unique and diverse needs of children ages birth to five being served in early childhood education settings across the state. Educators, policymakers, community leaders, and advocates must all work together to ensure children are receiving high quality learning experiences.
