Children are Born Learning!

Advances in research and technology are enabling greater understanding of the developmental needs of children ages birth to five. Researchers, family groups, medical professionals, educators and child advocates have a unique opportunity to partner in efforts to ensure that all the children of Texas have access to high quality early care and education experiences. Evidence of the rapid brain development that occurs from birth to age 5 demands that parents, educators and health care providers coordinate activities, share information and resources and explore together avenues for promoting successful development and for engaging children in positive activities that enable them to be happy, healthy and well prepared for their future experiences in school and life. By working together and building best practices around the state that provide the supports and services that young children and their families need, we can ensure a brighter future for all Texas children.
