TECEC
Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition

The mission of the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition is to build a system of quality early care and education that prepares children in Texas for success in their education and life. For the first time ever foundations, businesses, providers, universities, advocates, community groups and organizations are coming together to build a statewide network on early care and education and identify common issues that will provide a vision and plan for early childhood in Texas.

Policy decisions being made right now like the federal reauthorization of Head Start, child care and welfare programs, President Bush's Good Start, Grow Smart Initiative including the No Child Left Behind Act, and newly passed legislation at the state level will shape the future of early care and education in Texas for years to come. With limited resources at the city, county and state levels, it is vital for stakeholders to build an effective statewide voice to ensure that early care and education programs are protected and receive the support they need to succeed. Your input and participation are critical to the success of this effort.

In order to build a broad-based, statewide Coalition that builds ONE voice on critical issues affecting early care and education we must bring all stakeholders to the table with strong grassroots participation. Help build this Coalition by developing the next steps that will support the success of children and families in Texas by signing up in support of our guiding principles as a member organization or interested individual.
