The mission of the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition is to build a system of quality early care and education that prepares children in Texas for success in their education and life. More than ever foundations, businesses, providers, universities, advocates, community groups and organizations are coming together to build a statewide network on early care and education and identify common issues that will provide a vision and plan for early childhood in Texas.
2009 will be an important year for early care and education in Texas and throughout the nation. In Texas, dozens of bills relating pre-k, child care, and Head Start have already been filed, and more are on the way. Nationally, the Obama Administration's Education Plan includes promising goals for early care and education. With so much energy and excitement building behind the early education movement, Texas advocates and stakeholders must be united in order to be as effective as possible during the 81st Legislative Session. Our statewide, broad-based Coalition brings ONE strong voice to the Capitol on issues affecting early care and education. Help build this Coalition by joining with us in support of children and families in Texas. Please review our guiding principles and The Texas Plan , our 10 year public policy agenda. If you agree that our youngest Texans deserve a high-quality early education then please join our coalition! What happened for Texas young learners during the 81st Legislative Session? |
