Child Care Health Consultants and Healthy Child Care TexasTexas Child Care Health Consultants A Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC) is a health or early childhood professional who provides consultation, training, and technical assistance to early childhood education providers (including family homes) in recognizing and promoting the health and safety of children, families, and early care and education staff. Thanks to the Healthy Child Care Texas statewide initiative more than 70 credentialed individuals have gone through a comprehensive education course, have become child care health consultants, and are now improving programs throughout the state. The Healthy Child Care Texas website is rich in information offering important resources to parents, a list of child care health consultants for early care and education providers to connect to, the Lone Star Guide to assist early childhood professionals in ensuring the health and safety of young children, an online medical curriculum and more. To help share information about this program with others, please also take a look at the brochure providing an overview of this initiative. |
